Lively, dynamic and successful cities all have one thing in common – a good public transport system. Great cities such as Madrid, San Francisco and Melbourne converted to light rail years ago, while Dublin and Shanghai recently introduced light rail when expanding, improving or replacing existing public transport infrastructure.

A broad coalition of Perth’s leading environmental, educational and industry organisations have come together to progress a light rail plan for Perth, as well as an overall improvement to Perth’s public transport network.

This campaign website outlines the rationale for light rail in Perth, features links to relevant research and will be used to promote community forums and online discussions.

www.perthlightrail.org is a project undertaken by Australian Greens Senator Scott Ludlam, working in a broad alliance on a light rail network for Perth.
